Description: This course introduces the structure, philosophy, and guiding values of public health practice. Learners explore the evolution of the field, the 10 Essential Public Health Services, and the social, political, and economic forces that shape public health policy and equity.
Course Outcomes:
- Explain public health history, philosophy, and values.
- Identify the core functions of public health and the 10 Essential Services.
- Explain the cultural, social, political, and economic determinants of health and how these determinants relate to population health and health inequities.
