Description: This course explores effective support strategies with sickle cell disease (SCD) to stay as healthy as possible. This course has three (3) lessons:

  1. Recommended health screenings and care.
  2. Living a healthy life with a chronic disease such as sickle cell disease
  3. Exercise in patients with SCD

This course should take participants approximately 3 hours to complete.

Course Outcomes

Define ways CHWs can assist the patient with a chronic disease such as SCD to manage their activities of daily living, live a healthy lifestyle and become more self-sufficient.
